Cocktail Piano Tips: Melodic Embellishment

Concise & Potent

Here we have an example of a melodic embellishment that serves a purpose in a rather small musical space. We are using a simple chord arpeggio within the duration of a beat and a half. You are highly encouraged to use this piano fill as a “springboard” to create a number of others on your own! (In addition, take some liberty with your melody, too. You will notice that I deviated ever so slightly from the rhythm that is actually notated in the music excerpt. Can you spot exactly where?)
