Naturally Melodic
The pentatonic scale has a natural melodic sound on its own. That said, using segments of it over a chord progression can really open you up to some really flavorful possibilities. Consider “sprinkling” your application of it amid other improvisational techniques, including using it as a melodic fill when appropriate.
