Walk It, Baby!
Walking bass lines are indeed a favorite topic of mine. Slowly but surely, we’re going to cover it more extensively. In this session, we are establishing a basic foundation. By doing this, we are actually setting ourselves up in more ways than might initially meet the eye. Look for those scenarios in your swing tunes where the chord lasts for 4 beats or more. By making this particular pattern a regular tool in that piano playing “toolbox” of yours, you are establishing a platform upon which more and more walking bass techniques will develop!
